Tango shoes in Munich

Tango Shoes: Where to Buy in Munich?

So you know now how to choose the shoes for tango. What you need, as a next step, is to try a few pairs on and buy the ones that meet your needs best. The Argentine tango is still in a niche among other dances, and there aren’t many tango shoes stores where you can try on several pairs. Hence, I wrote this post, to put them together and make your life a bit easier.

Stores and resellers in Munich and around
  1. Quality for dance – Madame Pivot and other brands
  2. Caro Lin – Tangolera – Contact Caro via Whatsapp or by phone 01727573587 and make an appointment. She is in the Maldito studio almost every day – either before or after classes or on Friday before the milonga La Lunita.
  3. Tanzlädchen Otto – big choice of less popular tango brands; worth checking out.
  4. Tango Style La Lucila – SUR – in Kaufbeuren and at tango events
  5. M Tango – Tangolera – in Fürth
Tango Swap

It’s an event where you can buy second-hand tango shoes and clothes from other tanguer@s. Like a tango flea market.
This can be a perfect way to buy good-quality shoes cheaper and still in great shape. At Tango Flow, we organize it twice per year and it’s not only a great chance to get a Schäppchen, but also a great way to meet the other tanguer@s from the Munich tango community. Sign up for the newsletter to not miss the next event.

Facebook Marketplace Groups

In those groups tango dancers are selling their used and in good shape tango shoes and clothes. Below you will find linked some local Facebook groups with active participants.

1. Germany
2. Poland
3. Italy
4. World wide

Tango events

Often at a bigger event, you can find tango shoes and clothes stands. If you know that there will be one at a milonga or festival, come a bit earlier to have the comfort of trying things on without missing out on dances 🙂 Often only cash is accepted, so take some with you.

Online stores

That’s the biggest category. As you can buy tango shoes from everywhere. This has many advantages:

  • huge choice of brands and styles
  • sometimes cheaper,
  • home delivered

and disadvantages:

  • no chance to try on
  • all that trouble with packing and sending back when they don’t fit
  • shipping costs (and customs when ordering from countries out of the EU)

Here’s a quick guide to finding your first pair of tango shoes.
