{"id":912,"date":"2021-06-13T21:54:32","date_gmt":"2021-06-13T19:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tangoflow.org\/?p=912"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:09:47","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T22:09:47","slug":"enjoy-being-a-tango-beginner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tangoflow.org\/de\/enjoy-being-a-tango-beginner\/","title":{"rendered":"Enjoy Being A Tango Beginner!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have never danced before, can I come to your tango beginner course?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This question often appears when we open the registrations to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/tangoflow.org\/classes\/\">course<\/a>. It makes me think of expectations that people have of themselves. We want it all, and we want it now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But why come to a beginner course when you already know how to dance? Being a beginner (in any field) is not only a fact for many of us. We should consider it as a right. We have the right to say: I don&#8217;t know, I have never done it before, and I want to earn it. And it should be fine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, I understand the discomfort of doing things for the first time (second and third time, too!). I do! To me, a tango teacher and former professional contemporary dancer, the first-ever tango steps have never been too stressful. But I am a rookie in many other aspects (I am learning the German language for almost two years and still sometimes too shy to speak in the bakery). I feel you, and I will guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Not knowing&#8217; state is a fascinating moment, a carte blanche that you can fill up with new words, stories or experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Knowledge removes ignorance in the same way as light removes darkness.<\/p>\n<cite>yoga mantra<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Enjoy the process, ask questions, let the teacher know what are you struggling with. You are not alone in this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know also that you might not be noticing the struggle of others, but believe me, some difficulties come to everyone: at different stages, with other aspects of the learning process, sometimes physical, sometimes mental, but to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to encourage you to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/intl\/blog\/happiness-in-world\/201004\/trying-new-things\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">novice<\/a>, enjoy the journey and appreciate every part of your tango beginner course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have never danced before, can I come to your tango beginner course?
